Create Your Own Christmas Cards 2013 - 2014

A Fluffy Winter Snowflake Wonderland!
This site has lots of unique greeting card making ideas. If you want to create your own Christmas cards then try this idea…
This frosty blue Christmas card making idea is simply stunning. The glittered snowflake design is mounted on a bed of marabou trimming so it really pops out and gives the whole card a 3-dimensional feel.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate
You Will Need:
A plain folded white card (C6). You can also use blue card.
The blue-backed snowflake image from the Printable Christmas Card Making Kit here…
    Light blue glitter
    Holographic micro-glitter
    Light blue marabou trimming
    PVC glue
Spray on glue (I used 3M’s Spray Mount)
Create Your Own Christmas Cards By Following This Steps…
Print it out! Open up the Printable Christmas Card Making Kit [the what?] and print out the page that contains the blue-backed snowflake design (the darker one).
Create Your Own Christmas CardsTear it! Carefully tear along the inner edges of the blue design, so that approximately 1cm of the outer border is left.
    PVC glue it!
Carefully outline the snowflake design with your glue. Don’t use too much and make sure you don’t go over the edges of the snowflake.
Glitter it! Sprinkle some of the holographic glitter over the gluey snowflake (make sure you place a folded piece of scrap paper underneath, to catch the excess glitter when you shake it off). Tap off the excess glitter and return to the pot.
        PVC glue again!
Outline the hand-torn edges of the blue snowdflake rectangle with glue. Draw the glue in towards the centre now and again, to create an ‘icy’ effect.
Outline the inner frame with glue too – this time making tight squiggly lines all the way round.
Glitter it again! Sprinkle some of the light blue glitter over the inner and outer border of the blue hand-torn rectangle (make sure you place a different piece of folded scrap paper underneath). Return the excess glitter to the pot. Leave to dry.
Tip: Don’t worry if some of the blue glitter catches on the snowflake – this adds to the design, which is why you don’t wait for the snowflake’s glue to dry. But do make sure you don’t pour all the glitter on the snowflake itself – try to sprinkle around it.
When you tap off the excess glitter, just enough of the blue glitter will catch on the snowflake, accenting its design.
Create Your Own Christmas CardsPVC glue… again! Meanwhile, let’s decorate the border of your card. Outline the edges of the card with glue. Draw the glue in towards the centre now and again, to create an ‘icy’ effect.
Back to the glitter! Sprinkle some of the light blue glitter over the gluey border of your card (make sure you place the folded piece of scrap paper underneath, to catch the excess glitter when you shake it off). Tap off the excess glitter and return to the pot. Leave to dry.
Spray glue it! Spray glue the back of the glittered blue rectangle.
PVC glue it! To make sure the marabou trimming will stay put, squiggle some pvc glue onto the center of your card (where the center-piece will be positioned).

Add marabou! Trim a length of baby blue marabou trimming so that it’s long enough to frame the blue rectangle. Fix the marabou trimming around the inner edges of the underside of the glitter design, then position onto your card.
As you can see from the stunning final result, when you create your own Christmas cards, they really do stand out from the rest!
